Essex Hypnotherapy Newsletter Issue 1
Hello and A VERY WARM WELCOME to the first edition of the Essex Hypnotherapy Newsletter. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Kerry Weaver and I am your fully qualified, clinical hypnotherapist based in Essex.
The aim of this, and subsequent newsletters, is to raise awareness in and around the Essex area towards the benefits and applications of hypnotherapy. There are many misunderstandings about hypnotherapy, most of which are completely undeserved. Despite its name hypnosis is not a state of sleep. It is a voluntary co-operative state that only you choose to enter or leave whenever you want to so it's impossible to get stuck in hypnosis or be made to do anything against your will. Many people wonder what hypnosis feels like. The truth is there is no such thing as a hypnotised feeling because every individual experiences hypnosis differently. However, it's within this natural, altered state of consciousness that normal barriers to your mind become lowered making it possible for your therapist to help you with your problem.
Have you ever tried to make changes in your life only to find that after all of your efforts the old habits sneak back in? If you answered "yes", then hypnotherapy may be the answer for you.
Here are a few examples of conditions that may be helped with hypnotherapy: anxiety, agoraphobia, blushing, confidence, concentration, dyslexia, exam nerves, eczema, eating disorders, fears, guilt, bad habits, business enhancement, insecurity, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), relationship problems, nail biting, over eating, panic attacks, phobias, psoriasis, public speaking, sexual difficulties, shyness, smoking cessation, stress, stutters and stammers, sports enhancement, travel fright, and a whole lot more!
Hypnotherapy is not a universal cure for all ills but it is probably one of the oldest therapies used by humankind. It was known to have been in use as a cure by the early civilizations of ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Indians and Persians. Anybody who wants to live a happier, healthier life can benefit from hypnotherapy. Whether you are suffering from stress related difficulties, or simply want the courage and confidence to do the things in life that you have always wanted to do hypnotherapy could help you to overcome your psychological barriers.
I offer two types of therapeutic methodology. The first is suggestion based therapy which is ideal for milder problems such as driving test nerves, exam fears, public speaking and smoking cessation. For this kind of therapy you are taken into a pleasant relaxed state where the conscious mind relaxes making it possible for your therapist to communicate positive suggestions to the subconscious part of your mind. Suggestion therapy usually requires 2 to 4 sessions, but the number of sessions will depend upon your problem.
The second methodology used is Hypno-analysis. Analysis is mainly used for more deep-rooted problems such as phobias, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and some psycho-sexual difficulties. The focus of hypno-analysis is to find and remove the underlying original cause of your problem. Many of our present day problems may exist due to a past negative experience being locked away in the subconscious mind. Analytical therapy usually requires between 6 to 12 weekly sessions although it is impossible to be completely accurate about the number of sessions required. You may rest assured that only the therapy that is right for you will be used.
There may have been a time in your life when you experienced distressing feelings that seemed to have no end in sight. These feelings may have been caused by a failed relationship, redundancy, loss of a loved one like a family member, close friend, or even a pet. The aim of analytical therapy is to help you find your own answers and solutions to your problems. By learning to understand your thoughts and feelings you can put yourself back in control of your life and arrive at your own positive decisions about your future.
If you would like the opportunity to sit down and discuss your problem with a caring professional, I invite you to book your FREE initial consultation today and discover how hypnotherapy and analysis could help you. You will be under no obligation to enter into therapy and hypnosis will neither be used nor demonstrated. Your confidentiality will be respected at all times. Consultations are strictly by appointment only, and all bookings should be made by telephone.
